We will contact all families that wish to participate/who complete the survey by June 19th. Completion of the survey is not a guarantee that your child will be enrolled in Summer School. This survey will be open through June 5th.

See you today (Tuesday) from 10:30 - 12:30 for meal distribution for the week! Please make sure that you open your trunk or hatch of your vehicle. Our staff will not be placing food into the interior of your vehicles to maintain social distancing.

Happy Sunday! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. Please remember that all school work for the week is available every Monday for your student(s). You can also view the weekly work schedule for each grade at any time to know what is expected of your student every week:

Continuous Learning has not stopped.
We understand that the continued closure of schools presents many challenges for students and families, however continuous learning is expected through June 19th (last day of school). Refer to my mailed letter of the week of April 27th for student work expectations. Please respond to staff members trying to contact you. We cannot help your students without that communication. We are conducting home visits to those families currently not engaged in communication/instruction with their teachers or administration.
Teachers are providing instruction and learning materials on priority learning standards to prepare your student(s) for the next school year. These standards are important for your child's education.
Please complete the distance learning survey and let me know if you want to speak to me personally about your child's learning. https://bit.ly/367aHIZ

Have you completed your census? Only 55% of Yakima County has done so which will effect funding in our county.

Thank your teachers this week for all they do!

Did you miss us today? We hope to see you next time.
We had so much fun and it was so good to see our students!

Your students' teachers will have communicated if they are ready for pick up. Please social distance when picking up materials. Thank you.

Our fantastic team distributed 4770 meals today! Afterward Dominos celebrated our food service staff by feeding them! Big thank you to Dominos. We enjoyed being together but were careful to social distance. We will see everyone next Tuesday from 10:30 - 12:30 for our next meal service.

Families – learning must continue! Teachers are preparing printed materials for your students to complete during the school closure with no internet or device at home. They will contact you directly where materials can be picked up this week. They are also preparing online materials to complete for those with internet access and devices at home.
Families must communicate with teachers. Please respond to messages, calls, etc., as teachers are required to make student contact each week in the mode of communication that you requested during conferences.
Doing nothing is not an option as materials will be assessed by teachers throughout the closure as required by the State of Washington. Grades of pass (student attempted the work) and no credit (student did not attempt the work) will be given for grades K-8. For Washington State History and Algebra (middle school) A-B-Pass-No Credit will be given because they are required for high school.
You should receive instructional materials in print or electronically this week. Check ClassDojo classroom pages for specific instructions. We will be working towards having all grade level weekly schedules on our district website soon so you can get requirements for each grade for every week of closure through June 19th in one easy to find location. Please contact teachers directly with any questions about your student’s school work.

Bulk meal delivery for the next 5 school days is tomorrow in front of the school from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm.

We miss our students so much that we had to make a video!

Families - Today, Governor Jay Inslee officially closed all schools for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. As a district, we are committed to doing whatever we can to be a resource to our community, families, staff and most importantly our students. In the days ahead we will receive more guidance from the state, adapt our plans and communicate with you about the remainder of the school year. Thank you for your patience and grace.

Almost 6400 meals delivered by Union Gap School today! It was so good to see so many families! See you again on April 14th.
